Register for Mathify

Durham District School Board (DDSB) partners with Mathify to provide students in Grades 7 to 10 with free online math tutoring. By using Mathify, you will get one-on-one tutoring support from an Ontario certified math teacher.

You can register for Mathify online. To create an account, you will need to provide your:

  • Email address
  • Ontario Education Number (found on your report card)
  • Grade
  • School Board

Students can also register and login through the VLE (D2L Brightspace) accessible through the Student Mobile Campus.

Mathify Online tutors

Mathify tutors are available Sunday to Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and are accessible on all devices. Each grade has an online discussion room where students can:

  • Interact with tutors using voice and text
  • Solve math problems with tutors using interactive whiteboards

Create a math portfolio of their work and review lessons

24-hour support

If you are unable to attend the online tutoring session, you can still receive math support. Mathify provides 24-hour access to your personalized math portfolio and other resources that can be used from home or school.

 

Virtual Academic Resource Support

Virtual Academic Resource support is available for students between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.  Students can join the Google Classroom "Eastdale Virtual Learning Hub 2020-2021" using the following code: mdjiocb or click on the following link:

Khan Academy

Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empowers learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom.  The focus is on skill mastery to help learners establish strong foundations across all subject areas, math included!  Click here to access the Khan Academy website.

 

Durham Black Educators' Network Tutoring Program

DBEN has created Elevate and Expand: Coaching for Excellence.  This new initiative is our Culturally Relevant and Responsive, free virtual tutoring support program for Durham District School Board students in grades 6 - 12 who identify as a part of Durham's Black diaspora.  Virtual 1:1 support will be offered through Google Meet.  Students will be matched with tutors based on academic strengths and needs, and our tutors; teaching qualifications.  For more information, please send your inquiries to DBENtutoring@gmail.com .
